Falk Homecoming the weekend of May 19th

Announcement Letter

Dear Falk Alumni:

Happy New Year! The faculty and families of Falk School extend our sincere wishes for a year of peace and happiness for you and your family.

Also, did you know that this school year is the 75th anniversary of Falk School? Our theme is The Joy of Lifelong Learning.  We are celebrating not only the exemplary education Falk provides, but also our community: the diverse culture, the vitality, playfulness, creativity, and love of learning that mark Falk’s students and faculty, both past and present.

We are planning a Falk Homecoming the weekend of May 19th. Among events being planned are a Saturday night party at the Concordia Club in Oakland, at a cost of about $50 per person, and an expanded carnival at the school for Sunday afternoon. Further details will follow on our website and in mailings.  The activities will provide opportunities to visit with old friends and former faculty both on and off site, as well as to catch up on Falk’s progress and plans.

Another significant aspect of our celebration is that we are asking alumni to come back to Falk (this year and beyond) to share their talents and projects with current students and faculty. Your experiences and knowledge will inspire our students and encourage them to imagine their possibilities and future directions. What a gift!

Of course, we are asking that you share your memories.

Attached is a brief questionnaire and postage paid envelope for your convenience. Please take a moment to begin the process of homecoming by informing us of what talents you might share, in addition to a memory or two for a commemorative book.  If you wish, you can respond via e-mail to alumni@falk-school.org using the questionnaire as a guide.

If you still live in western PA or will be in town, there is a Bingo Day scheduled for February 11 from 3-5 p.m. in our cafetorium.  Feel free to join us, and if you do, let the parents running the event know who you are so you can be introduced!

In the poem The Rainbow Wordsworth said, “The child is father of the man….” So too our primary education in many ways can lead to whom we become. We invite you to come back to Falk School to share your early educational experiences and the talents you have developed, to celebrate Falk’s 75-year history, and to participate in its future.

We very much look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

The Falk School Homecoming Commitee
